Calculus Monday!

Math Tutoring | Blog Style…what does that mean?? Since I’m a math tutor in real life I will create videos for this blog of my most-asked and trickiest questions, and I will teach you how to solve them the same way I would teach one of my own students. I will pick what I think are the most helpful topics each week from what my students in real life are doing in their own classes…and share with you things that I probably said to them a million times during that week! Chances are you will be doing similar things in your own math classes. I’ve found that students from different schools still end up learning the same chapters at roughly the same time!

Everyone who I help has already learned the material in class so that’s how I will approach this blog. I am going to assume that you’ve already been taught the material and that you need some fine-tuning or are having trouble with it. Because of that I won’t always be explaining the basics.

What better way to start off each week than with a little Calculus! My AB students have been learning the chain rule. My BC students are just starting the related rates section.

Let’s start with a short video of some challenging chain rule examples…

And here is one of my most asked related rates questions, the CONE…

I hope that helps! Check back again next Monday for a little more Calculus! Tomorrow I will tackle some common Precalculus questions…
